Hi friends,
It’s been a long time, so this is long over due.
I have been a bundle of anxiety over a few things in my life. Things I so desperately want God to make happen, and my mind keeps “envisioning” the future, the what ifs (good and bad). It’s caused me to fixate on these things, I realized like most times in my life when I have big plans and I try to control the outcomes.
Sometimes I am so disappointed (more times than not actually). This running over the future in my mind, has caused me anxiety and I can’t think clearly. Which runs over to every other area of my life.
If your relating to any of this you’ve come to the right place.

This morning I asked God to reveal my heart. I realized I “lean on my own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5-6) and am relying on myself. I am allowing the enemy to plants seeds of doubt and self reliance in mind and in turn I miss Gods plans and voice.
It is vital for us to admit to ourselves that we don’t know what our life will be like tomorrow, but we do know WHO holds the future.
My kids are studying 1 Kings for the Lad 2 Leaders convention, which means I am also studying 1 Kings. I have never studied it, so this is a great opportunity.
Summary of what is happening:
Solomon is becoming King after David. You probably already know how Solomon is a wise king, however I wasn’t aware of HOW he became wise. The reason for his wisdom is because he asked God for it. His wisdom didn’t come from experiences nor was he born with it. God alone provided it. 1 Kings chapter 3, tells about how Solomon admitted his weakness to God in not knowing how to accomplish his duties (vs. 7) and then asked God for the wisdom to carry out the duties to honor God and do what was right (vs. 9)
Over the course of my entire life, I made plans. Plans are good, but they stop being good when the plans I choose are priority over Gods will. SO when those plans fail, instead of throwing our hands up, we must remember that plans fail because it wasn’t what GOD wanted.

Later Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs. He wrote that, God set our paths and gives the right answer. (Proverbs 16:1 & 9) but the purpose for us is to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and not to worry about to tomorrow. Today brings enough troubles. ( Matthew 6:33-34)
We are instructed to pray for spiritual wisdom, insight to grow in knowledge of God. Pray that our hearts will be flooded with light so that we can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called- His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. Pray for understanding of His great power for us who beleive Him. (Ephesians 1:15-23)
We have no knowledge of the future. We can plan, yet the plans must not come before Gods will. If He wants us to pivot, we must.
A prayer to pray for ourselves and those around us:
Lord, the days a head are scary and there’s a lot of unknowns. But you are the keeper of the knowledge of tomorrow. Give us the wisdom to know what paths to take. Strengthen us to face the trials and disappointments we will face. Remind us to seek Your will in all things and to lean on You and not on our understanding. Give us wisdom to know how to carry out Your will. In all times, but especially when things feel uncertain give us light to understand and remember Your great power and the confident hope in You. Help us take our thoughts captive, so the enemy has no control over us, help us keep a clear head to be able to identify the path which You want us to take. You have gotten us this far You will get us along even farther. Thank You Lord for showing up time and time again, even when we don’t deserve it. Thank You for bringing us back to You Lord and revealing Your goodness throughout our lives. In all things let Your will be done.
(And all Gods people said) AMEN!
I hope that all that God laid on my heart you can use it too.
